Local Election - Voting
From Tuesday 06 October 2020
To Friday 23 October 2020

Voting in local council elections in Victoria this October will be by post.

The ballot pack will contain:

  • a ballot paper attached to statements and photographs lodged by the candidates in your council or ward
  • a ballot paper envelope with a flap
  • voting instructions
  • a reply-paid envelope.

You can ask to send your ballot pack to a different address if: 

  • you will be away when ballot packs are mailed (after Tuesday 6 October 2020)
  • your mailing address will change after the close of rolls (Friday 28 August 2020). 

This includes interstate and overseas addresses. Keep in mind that postal services may be delayed due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, both within Australia and internationally.

Candidates for your council will be listed on the Victorian Electoral Commission website progressively from Thursday 17 September 2020. 

Voting closes 6 pm Friday 23rd of October - all mailed ballots must be received by this date

Results declared Friday 13th November
